Bareback Results

The Bareback Riding competition proved to be one of the deepest and most competitive events of the entire weekend, with elite rides coming from both Pool A and Pool B before the championship round narrowed the field to the best of the best. Fans were treated to a showcase of explosive athleticism, hard-riding broncs, and fearless performances from some of rodeo’s brightest young stars, all culminating in a Finals showdown worthy of the Cloverdale Rodeo spotlight.

With Ozzy Osbourne blasting through Jamie Rogers Arena and the crowd on its feet, Cooper Filipek delivered the kind of ride that has quickly made him “one of the most exciting young cowboys in the game.” The reigning college champion exploded out of the J-Bones Welding chute aboard 429 Perlich Bros Lawless and matched the horse jump for jump in his signature yellow gear, posting an unbeatable 89-point ride to capture the 2026 Cloverdale Rodeo Bareback Riding championship, a $25,000 payday, and a coveted set of Cloverdale Rodeo spurs. Mason Stuller followed closely with an 88-point effort aboard H32 Air Strike to finish second, while Trapper McAllister on 4 Banjo, Ethan Mazurenko on 68 Knock Out, and Taylor Broussard on 661 Stands Alone split third with matching 86.5-point rides.

When asked what it was like competing in Cloverdale, Filipek smiled and said, “I’m super blessed. This crowd is amazing. Everyone is cheering and giving us their all… they’re amazing!”

Saddle Bronc Results

From the opening performance through Monday’s Finals, Saddle Bronc Riding consistently delivered some of the most technically impressive rides of the entire rodeo. The event featured world-class matchups between elite cowboys and premier bucking stock, with the standings constantly shifting throughout the weekend before the weekend’s most dominant rider ultimately cemented his position in Cloverdale Rodeo history to run a perfect three-for-three wins across the competition.

After dominating both go-rounds in Pool A, Layton Green entered Monday’s Saddle Bronc Finals as the man everyone was chasing. When the draw revealed he would ride 476 Double Red, the same horse ridden by both the 2024 and 2025 Cloverdale champions, anticipation surged through the arena. Riding in the eighth and final position out of the B&B Contracting chute, Green delivered under pressure with a spectacular 90.5-point ride that brought the crowd roaring to its feet and secured the championship, a $25,000 cheque, and his first pair of Cloverdale Rodeo spurs. Kade Bruno finished second with an outstanding 89.5-point ride aboard 75 Boss Feed Miscrient, while Kolby Wanchuk claimed third with 89 points on 951 Hullabaloo.

Asked about his experience at Cloverdale this weekend, Green remarked, “Unbelievable! This is one of the best rodeos in the world. The crowd, the atmosphere, everything… I love it!”

Barrel Racing Results

The Barrel Racing competition showcased consistency, precision, and incredible horsemanship throughout the entire May long weekend, with athletes battling through two closely-fought pool rounds before advancing to Monday’s Finals. Fans packed the arena for every run as competitors pushed for faster times around the barrels, proving once again why Barrel Racing remains one of the most thrilling and crowd-favourite events at the Cloverdale Rodeo.

In her very first trip to Canada, Sloan McFarlane made sure the Cloverdale Rodeo crowd would remember her name. Drawing the second run of the Finals, McFarlane laid down a blazing 15.74-second pattern that proved untouchable for the remainder of the competition, earning her the 2026 Cloverdale Rodeo Barrel Racing championship, a $25,000 payday, and a set of Cloverdale Rodeo spurs. Brooke Wills placed second with a 16.13-second run, while Vanessa Leggett rounded out the top three after stopping the clock at 16.31 seconds.

When rodeo announcer Brett Gardner asked if she planned to return to Canada, McFarlane grinned and replied, “If I can come back as many times as I can, I will!”

Bull Riding Results

Bull Riding delivered drama from the very first performance of the weekend through the final whistle on Monday afternoon, with some of the toughest bulls in the business challenging a stacked field of elite riders. Every qualified ride was hard-earned, and the Finals capped off the weekend with a championship matchup that fans will likely be talking about for years to come.

In the final ride of the entire 2026 Cloverdale Rodeo, fans witnessed what rodeo announcer Brett Gardner called “the most anticipated ride of the weekend.” Three-time Canadian Champion and current world number three Jacob Gardner finally matched up with 731 Alberta Prime Devils Advocate in a showdown that had been circled as soon as it was announced. When the Alberta Premium chute gate swung open, the arena erupted as cowboy and bull battled through eight seconds of back-and-forth action before Gardner earned the nod with an 89-point ride to capture the championship and a $26,333 payday. Spur Owens finished second with 88.5 points aboard 826 Perlich Bros Fallen Angel, while Ashton Sahli placed third after an 83-point effort on 782 Jack The Ripper.

Reflecting on the moment afterward, Gardner addressed the Cloverdale crowd directly, saying, “I just want to say how great you fans are. Thank you for coming out. Without you supporting us…[we] wouldn’t get to do what we do.”
