- Skateboard Stampede – Watch the next era of skateboarding bring back the Old School on a fun Mini Ramp provided by HMI Skate Park, where top talent throws down in fierce competitions and electrifying showcases.
- Freestyle Skateboard Throwdown – Top skaters throw down their best tricks in a high-energy freestyle showdown.
- Street Dance Competitions – Feel the rhythm and witness dancers battle it with style, skill, and show-stopping moves.
- BMX Freestyle Demos – Prepare to be blown away by next-level BMX tricks that push the limits of what’s possible on two wheels.
- Live DJ Sets – Keeping the vibe high all day with high-energy beats and live mixes fueling the action.

2026 Skateboard Stampede & Throwdown Athletes
Skateboarding: Orson Merry - Canada
Orson Merry is a grade 11 student at Earl Marriott Secondary, who is sponsored by Waltz Skateboarding. Orson started freestyle skateboarding in his carport at age 11, drawing inspiration from skaters like Mike Osterman, Andy Anderson, and Kevin Harris. The creativity and fluidity of freestyle skateboarding especially appeals to Orson. He has competed in numerous local and international skateboarding contests and has given many demoes. He is thrilled to be returning to the Cloverdale Rodeo to help showcase freestyle.

Skateboarding: Kilian Martin - USA
Kilian Martin is a professional freestyle skateboarder known for pushing the creative boundaries of skateboarding. He has worked on a variety of video projects and commercials that highlight skateboarding as an art form, with a focus on flow, precision, and originality.
Skateboarding: Cheyenne Williams - Canada
Cheyenne Williams is a competitive freestyle skateboarder from Hope, BC. She started skateboarding at 30 years old after she began bringing her daughter to HMI Skate Park for lessons 3 years ago. Since then, Cheyenne has travelled around North America to attend freestyle skateboarding competitions, most recently placing first in the Amateur Division at the 2026 Kona Classic in Jacksonville, Florida. When not skateboarding, Cheyenne works full-time as a registered nurse and is a mother to three kids.
BMX: Francois Debroux - Canada
Originally born and raised in Brussels, Belgium, François has been calling Vancouver home for a long time. A lifelong BMX rider, François can ride all disciplines but excel at Flatland: The art of linking rolling tricks on the ground. Flatland is widely considered the most technical and difficult discipline of BMX. He was won multiple international competitions and is considered one of the top Master class contenders in North America. François is very active within the local and international scene. He is a BMX podcast producer, event organiser, contest and show announcer and of course a dedicated rider.
Break Dancer: Curtis Siu - Canada
Curtis Siu, aka Stray Curt, was born and raised in Vancouver BC and represents the Stray Path breaking crew. With over 15 years of competitive breaking experience, he has competed in numerous competitions, internationally and nationally, gaining recognition for his ambidextrous and powerful style. Curt continous to put Canada on the map and represent his style and crew within the worldwide breaking scene
HEADLINE SHOWS & COMPETITIONS
Join Hippie Mike and the HMI Crew as they set up a wooden skate park for a fun filled weekend of skateboard demos and competitions simply known as the HMI Mini Ramp Challenge. Open to all ages and skill levels to compete, and fun for everyone to watch.
Skateboard Stampede Schedule
Warm Up Showcase - Fri May 15th: 6-8pm
Get a look behind the scenes as the competitors take their first runs at the custom-built wood park. This is when the skaters test what’s possible and pull out some tricks that may be too big for competition!
Headliner: Mini Ramp Skateboard Contest and Best Trick - Sat May 16th: 12-5pm
Check out Top Skateboarders from all over the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley as they battle it out on a temporary wooden skate park and try to win the Cash Prize!! Hosted by Hippie Mike.
Roots of Skate Demo and Competition - Sun, May 17th: 12-4pm
Step back into the 1960’s and enjoy an awesome show based on the Roots of Skateboarding as special invited skaters compete on wooden plank skateboards in Slalom, Hijump, and Freestyle to try and win the big prize!! Hosted by Hippie Mike and Troy Derrick
Best Trick Challenge - Mon, May 18th: 12-4pm
Enjoy a series of Fun Best Trick competitions throughout the day as the competitors from Saturday’s Skateboard Stampede contest come back for more chances to win!! Hosted by Hippie Mike.
