Athletes Were Primed for Strong Performances in all Conditions

Surrey, B.C. – Pool A had perfect weather for go-round one on Friday night, but Saturday’s competition was a different story. Heavy rain earlier in the day added an extra challenge for the riders, yet many still managed to put up high scores and all of the competitions kept fans on the edge of their seats.
Riders complimented the crew on how well the grounds held up in the extreme conditions. Many spectators were surprised by the solid scores and times, but riders seemed to expect the results. “The horses are fresh, and the Cowboys are fresh,” commented bareback rider and eight-time NFR qualifier Tanner Aus prior to the event. “It’s the perfect combination for top-tier rodeo, action, and high scores.”
The rain didn’t chase away the crowds either, as a capacity audience took in the action at the Stetson Bowl. The Saturday afternoon session sold out well in advance so the live stream became the go-to for those who were unable to secure tickets. Event organizers encourage fans to pick up their tickets online ahead of time if they are planning to attend the upcoming shows.
For those unable to make it to Cloverdale this weekend, the replay of Pool A’s go-round two is available on the event’s website and fans can take in the action as Pool B takes to the ring for go-round one at 7:30 pm on Saturday, May 18th.
