Volunteering

The Cloverdale Rodeo & Country Fair attracts over 100,000 visitors a year and is the largest of its kind in British Columbia. It is an exciting, family-affordable taste of country lifestyle with livestock, live entertainment and midway rides.

The event is put on by the Cloverdale Rodeo & Exhibition Association, a not-for-profit organization and its success is the result of hundreds of amazing volunteers. We would like your help too.

Background Checks

All volunteers undergo a Criminal Record Check for your safety and security as well as our guests. Most volunteer based organization now require Criminal Record Checks.

The BC Ministry of Justice offers Criminal Record Checks online free of charge for our volunteers. The online process is secure and private. The Association will receive a notice whether the individual is cleared to volunteer. The Association will not receive any personal information. The process uses the individual’s BC Service Card in order to verify their identity online. In the event the individual does not have access to a computer, they will have to fill out the form and bring it and ID to the Cloverdale Rodeo & Exhibition Association office. The form will be submitted on their behalf.

Some individuals may be notified after their Criminal Record Check application that they are required to submit fingerprints for further ID verification. It’s not an indication of wrongdoing on the individual’s part it’s only that the Ministry needs to take an extra step to verify their identity.

Once you have submitted an application to be a volunteer you will receive an email from the Cloverdale Rodeo & Country Fair Volunteer Department with an online link to the BC Ministry of Justice along with an access code for you to complete the required documentation for your Criminal Record Check.

If you haven’t received your link or hard copy form, please contact us at volunteers@cloverdalerodeo.com or at 604-576-9461.
