FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Surrey, B.C. – May 6th, 2025
The countdown is officially on for one of BC’s most popular events as the Cloverdale Rodeo and Country Fair unveiled its 2025 event schedule this week. This year promises more excitement than ever, featuring a packed lineup of entertainment, activities, and brand-new attractions for all to enjoy.
“We’re excited about what’s in store this year,” says association president Kathy Sheppard. “It still feels like the Cloverdale everyone knows and loves—but with a fresh twist on our ‘Original Kind of Country.'”
Whether attendees are returning fans or first-time visitors, the May long weekend offers a full schedule of high-energy fun, live performances, and unforgettable experiences. To start planning your weekend, check out the full event schedule at cloverdalerodeo.com/country-fair/event-schedule.
Three New Marquee Events
This year, the Cloverdale Country Fair is also proud to announce two exciting new attractions, The South Gate Action Zone and Roll-A-Rama, and a new event venue, The Lasso Lounge. All three attractions join the long list of experiences that are included with a general admission ticket.
The Action Zone
Building on the legacy of the World Roundup Skateboarding Championship, the South Gate is being reimagined as a high-energy hub for extreme sports and live entertainment. Expect pro-level skateboarding, gravity-defying BMX tricks, intense breaking battles, and live DJ sets in one nonstop, adrenaline-fueled space.
The Action Stage will be the hub of activity at the South Gate, with its marquee event, The Freestyle Skateboard Throwdown, happening multiple times each day. The entertainment extends beyond the stage to include live, up-close performances, the ever-popular flying pig races, and a new street skateboard competition in the Alice McKay Building, hosted by local legend, Hippie Mike.
Roll-A-Rama
Meanwhile, the Cloverdale Curling Rink is rolling into action with Roll-A-Rama, a brand-new “roller rodeo” experience. During the day, enjoy public roller skating and Roller Derby exhibitions, and stick around for the ultimate throwback: a disco rollerskating party at night.
“We’re excited to partner with the Cloverdale Rodeo for the first time at this year’s Roll-A-Rama!” says Lucy Croysdill, Owner of Rolla Skate Club. “Our goal is to bring people together to rediscover the joy of roller skating, the spirit of community, and, of course, have some fun!”
Fairgoers can bring their own skates or rent a pair by donation, with proceeds going to the Cloverdale Community Kitchen.
Between public skating times, Roll-A-Rama will transform into the home of the first-ever Rodeo Roller Derby. Teams from the Greater Vancouver Roller Derby Association (GVRDA) will take to the floor for hard-hitting, action-packed competition at 1:15 pm and 4:30 pm on Saturday and Sunday.
“Greater Vancouver Roller Derby Association is thrilled to bring the fast-paced and hard-hitting fun that is the sport of flat track roller derby to the rodeo this year,” remarked GVRDA Marketing Director, Melissa Trickett, who goes by “Barbie” on the track. “[It’s] a guaranteed entertaining and unique experience you will not want to miss!”
Lasso Lounge
Located next to the main Food Truck area, the Lasso Lounge will be a unique gathering point for fairgoers. The huge tented area will host live performances and rodeo livestreams and will provide a new home for traditions such as Cowboy Church with Chaplain Rev. Mark Davis from the BC Fire Chaplains on Sunday morning at 10 am. The laid-back vibe in the middle of the action will add another dimension to the heart of the event and is a great place to grab a beverage and take in a show.
Festival Atmosphere – 50+ Performances
Live music is also a core experience at the Cloverdale Country Fair. Over 50 performers will grace venues including the main stage in the heart of the action, the famous Longhorn Saloon, the vibrant Indigenous stage, and the laid-back Cookhouse and Hops & Vines stages. New this year is the Lasso Lounge, featuring West Coast Duelling Pianos, DJs, solo artists, and live streams of events around the grounds.
Four headline performances anchor the music scene:
- Fri, May 16 @9:00 pm – Steven Lee Olsen
- Sat, May 17 @7:30 pm – Headpins
- Sat, May 17 @9:00 pm – Trooper
- Sun, May 17 @9:00 pm – Corb Lund

NEW TICKET PRICING FOR RODEO WEEKEND

Weekend Rodeo Performances and Longhorn Saloon tickets sold out before event weekend in 2024, so waiting to buy on event weekend is not advised and may result in disappointment. Tickets purchased prior to the event weekend also offer a savings for visitors.
