Pool B Riders Deliver Exciting Performances in Go-Round 2

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
May 20th, 2024

Surrey, B.C. – Pool B riders turned up the heat on the competition during Go-Round 2 on Sunday. The competition has been fierce throughout the weekend, as exemplified by the five sub-16 second rides in the ladies barrel racing competition on Sunday afternoon. The stock is also putting on a show for fans, particularly in the bull-riding events, where the animals are demonstrating early-season freshness and providing extra challenge for the riders. With the finals in sight, a sense of pride and desire to take home the coveted title is a driving force for all of the riders.

“As a young kid I’d always heard of this rodeo, and growing up I knew I wanted to be here competing, it’s just awesome,” commented Bull Rider Jake Gardner. He continued, “Southern BC Rodeo fans are some of the best in the world and whenever I get in this environment I just strive in it and I love it.”

The top four riders from each pool now turn their attention to the sold-out finals at the 76th Cloverdale Rodeo. Energy at the fairgrounds is high as anticipation builds for the showdown between the top eight riders in each category, four form each pool. The Stetson Bowl will host the 32 riders at 2:00 pm on Monday, May 20th. Competitors will compete in Bareback, Saddle Broc, Ladies Barrel Racing and Bull Riding categories for $50,000 in prize money per category, with $25,000 going to the winner. Fans will also enjoy a special performance by BCCMA artists Courtney Hunt and Annika Catharina.

Coach of Bit of Bling Grand Entry Team Sheila Hicks comments “This is my 21st year at the Cloverdale Rodeo, and I’m super honoured and proud to be back here. This rodeo means heritage, family values, and tradition to me. I grew up in this rodeo scene, and it means the world that they still have it here in Cloverdale.”

The rodeo finals are on Monday, May 20th at 2:00 pm. The Stetson Bowl is once again fully sold out, so fans who have been unable to secure a ticket can catch the action on the event’s live stream:
