This year the beat of the "dhol" drums and the unmistakable sound of Bhangra were heard for the first time in the Longhorn Saloon. Free with Grounds Admission, the Desi Mela featured a mix of contemporary and traditional folk singers, Bhangra dancers and even comedy.

Featured performers included:

Manak-E is known for his flashy videos and Bhangra inspired dancesongs that have earned him a string of hit singles in the UK, which he now calls home. Currently on a global tour in support of his latest album “dHoot” Manak-E will be guaranteed to get the party started and get everyone on the dance floor.

Taranampreet Kaur, a Punjabi folk singer well known for her distinct vocal style and sound. Her lyrics speak to peace, love and understanding, which has brought her popularity around the world while providing the opportunity to perform with some of the biggest Bollywood and Punjab stars.

Gurminder Guri, a Punjabi folk singer, originally from the U.S., has gained popularity as a gifted singer and strong lyricist who writes songs related to social, cultural and religious issues.
